OFEKEGATE: Aguocha’s Serial Impersonation Of  Projects And The Reason He Should Not Be Re-elected – By Paul Njoku

Hon. Obi Aguocha, the member representing the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has shot himself in the feet and bet never to be re-elected. He is a champion of inciting people against Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji over Nnamdi Kanu’s incarceration. He is also a champion of zero performance in office and empty scorecard

Aguocha has consistently demonstrated shamelessness and deceitfulness of all time. He relishes a definition of criminal and fraudulent tendency of claiming projects that are not related to him. Project-impersonation is fraudulent and criminal.

This is the height of political fraud and it must be called out without sugarcoating. The good people of Ofeke Ibeku contributed their hard-earned money, naira by naira, kobo by kobo to buy and install their own electric transformer. The list is there for all to see, the names of industrious sons and daughters of Ofeke who taxed themselves to bring light because their supposed Representative in the Green Chamber failed them

Now Mr. Henry Egesi, a notorious sycophant looking for cheap political favour, is shamelessly parading Obi Aguocha as the man who solely energized the transformer. What a lie from the pit of hell

This pattern of hijacking glory is not new to Obi Aguocha. Just two weeks ago in Ubakala, stakeholders of Ubakala Clan Union challenged him openly when he tried to claim the Eziama-Amuze Road which is actually a World Bank/Abia State Government collaboration, and the Agalaba-Ise-Umuokeleke Road which was flagged off by the State Government before he ever mentioned it. Community leaders questioned his basis for presenting state government interventions as his personal constituency projects. The same fraud he attempted in Ubakala is what he is now doing in Ofeke.

The question the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia are asking is simple: Where is your scorecard? For three years you have not published any comprehensive list of projects facilitated, roads rehabilitated, schools supported or jobs created. You claim 2,500 solar lights and boreholes but you cannot name one village where they are. You criticize Keke and Okada as empowerment, yet you have no verifiable IT center or tech job you have created for our youths. Leadership must be rooted in reality, not propaganda.

Compare this to real representation. Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji (IKUKU) did not need to steal community projects to be relevant. As a State Assembly member representing only Umuahia Central, his Direct Touch Initiative provided electricity transformers, water boreholes, renovation of schools, health facilities, grinding machines, sewing machines, cars, tricycles and scholarships.

Verifiable records show the rural and urban electrification projects done from start to finish by Rt. Hon. That is why even his own Premier Club has now debunked any endorsement for Aguocha’s second term and accused him of abandonment and ingratitude since 2023.

Let the message be clear: 2023 was a wave of emotion, but 2027 is operation show your scorecard. The good people of Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South have seen through the deceit. You cannot reap where you did not sow. You have been rejected by the market women, by the youths, by the stakeholders of Ubakala, and now by Ofeke Ibeku. No amount of lies can save you.
