Built On Lies, Fed On Other Peoples’ Sweat: Obi Aguocha Has No Business Representing Anyone – By Mandate 27 Group
There comes a point where disappointment turns to disgust, and with Hon. Obi Aguocha, that point has long passed. The member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency has made dishonesty the foundation of his tenure, and a house built on lies has never stood for long.
Look at the Ofeke Ibeku community transformer. Twenty-eight donors, among them the Deputy Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, businessmen, professors, engineers and ordinary patriots, paid into the Ofeke Development Union Electricity Committee account from their own pockets, with a deadline of 17th August 2026. Here is the roll of honour:

Read that list again, slowly. Obi Aguocha’s name is not on it. Yet when the light came on, he was the first to rush forward and claim it.
What does that tell you about a man? A representative with real achievements never needs to steal credit. Only the empty-handed do. Only a man with nothing in his own cupboard raids the cupboards of others. He has not just told lies; he has built a career out of standing on other people’s work and pointing at it as his monument.
And let us not pretend this is new. It is a pattern: the same hollow boasting, the same borrowed glory, the same press-release politics, repeated until the people can recite it by heart. He claims what he did not do, promises what he will not deliver, and then returns with a straight face to ask for more time. The audacity is almost admirable, if shamelessness could be called a skill.
The people of Ikwuano, Umuahia North and Umuahia South have not forgotten the roads that remain neglected, the youths left without opportunity, or the years of silence where representation should have been. A newborn in this constituency already knows what the Honourable has done, which is nothing. When the only thing you can add to a project is your signature on someone else’s achievement, you have confessed your own failure.
A representative is meant to be the voice of the people. How can a man be trusted to speak truthfully for a constituency when he cannot speak truthfully about a transformer? If he will lie about something this small, and in front of the very people who paid for it, what will he say about the things we cannot see?
Leadership is not a costume to be worn at ribbon-cuttings. It is character, and character is exactly what is missing. A man whose foundation is falsehood is unfit for the office he holds, and certainly unfit for a second term in it.
To the constituency: remember who gave, remember who worked, and remember who merely showed up for the photograph. Let your votes speak in the language he understands best, the language of consequences. The time for borrowed glory is over. Let him go home and learn to earn what he claims.
