Obi Aguocha: The Season Of Lies Is Almost Over – Tarry A few More Months. God Has Already Sent Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji To Take Us To The Promised Land – By Mandate 27 Group

Ndi-Ikwuano/Umuahia, as usual, your representative has come with his lies. He has handed you a long list of “interventions” and called it a record. Strip away the adjectives and the glossy phrases (“deserve serious consideration,” “sustained follow-up remains necessary”) and what remains is a liar begging for credit. A man who lies this easily to the people who trusted him cannot be believed on anything.

Three boreholes, a few repaired poles, one transformer and a list of solar lights, and he wants you to believe it is a record. It is a lie, and it is not the first. Where is the scorecard? A Reps member is not a contractor, and the lies he tells to pass off projects as performance will not hide the failure. Selling palliatives for the poor and needy in the constituency and calling it performance is not representation either. The people did not send him to Abuja to hand out relief and take photographs. They sent him to speak for them, and three years on, the constituency is still waiting to hear his voice.

Come 2027, when Hon. Aguocha’s tenure ends, history will remember him for four things: Lies. No scorecard. Selling palliatives for the poor and needy in the constituency. And an Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency left behind. Nothing else will be on the plaque. When the people of this constituency look back, they will not point to a legacy. They will point to a man who arrived with promises and left with excuses, and who tried to cover the gap with press releases.

Let us also deal with the lists. Anyone can publish the names of communities and call it achievement. A list is not a scorecard, and a scorecard is not what a man writes about himself through his media team. It is what the people say after they have counted what they received. Ask the families still waiting, the youths still idle and the traders still in the dark whether the long list in his rejoinder describes the life they are living.

Ossah people and Umumgbokwo Isingwu people will not allow their names to be dragged into this mess. The solar lights in Ossah were provided by an illustrious son of Ossah heading the UCDA. Umumgbokwo Isingwu has its own son doing the same. These communities were lit by their own sons, not by the uncontrollable lies of a man claiming credit for other people’s work. Ossah and Umumgbokwo Isingwu are proud, enlightened communities, and they know who stood by them. They will not let their names be stained by a man whose habit is to dress other men’s labour in his own garment. If he can pin other men’s projects on his chest, what else has he been lying to you about?

To the good people of Ikwuano, Umuahia North and Umuahia South: do not be deceived, and do not be discouraged. The season of lies is almost over. Tarry a few more months. God has already sent Rt. Hon. Engr. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, a seasoned legislative leader with a record you can check, to take you to the promised land. When that day comes, you will not need a media team to tell you what has been done. You will see it, and you will feel it in your homes, your markets and your streets.

So when the next press release arrives with its list of locations and its soft words, remember who is speaking. The liar has spoken. Now ask him for the scorecard.
