Your Excellency, You Did Not Just Speak YOU Showed Us The Road – By Akwaugo Mmadinaobi Ngozi Amulu

What you said last night at Michael Okpara Auditorium is not small talk. It is a shift. A clear cut. A brave cut.

For long, we held tight to shop and stall. We were proud traders. But trade alone will feed a day. What you are doing will feed a clan and a time yet unborn.

You had the heart to say it plain: *We are leaving that place of trading. We are going to making. From shop to screen. From market to making and to digital sale.*

Many leaders will not say this. Because old ways have many friends. It takes guts to tell your own people – the best traders in the world – that the road has changed. You did.

You do not catch new rain with an old basket.

He who holds the river bank too long will never cross the river.

When the drum beats new, the feet must learn new steps.

Sir, this is why your words hit deep:

You killed fear with height, not with fight. When they said Chinese traders are coming to drag retail with us in Lagos, you did not shout. You rose. You said we are going up. That is wisdom. If you fight the pig in mud, you both get dirty. Wise man builds a clean house on high ground. Digital ground.

You moved Aba from street to world. A shop in Ariaria sees 100 legs a day. A phone in Aba can see one billion eyes in one hour. A shoe made in Aba today can walk in Calgary, London, Houston tomorrow without visa. No lock. No rent. No light-out. Just reach. That is what digital trading does. It makes “Made in Aba” become “Sold to the World.”

You kept our sons and daughters at home. This is the most human part. TechRise. Our boys and girls now work for Google and Amazon FROM Aba. From Aba! They do not need to run away – japa – to earn global pay. Their brain stays home, their pay comes home, their pride stays Igbo. You put tool in young hands. And as our old ones say, a child who knows how to pound does not beg to eat.

You tied it well to Njikọ Ka. Unity is Supreme. Yes. But unity with no work is just song. You gave us work. A digital market for all Ala Igbo. One market, one voice, one purse. That is how the Igbo Charter will live – not on paper, but on phones, in code, in sales.

Your Excellency, you said we have laid a good base and the only way is up. True. Once a man digs deep and lays stone well, the house must rise. Abia is rising.

You have retrieved. You have recovered. Now you are lifting.

History will mark this night – September 28 – as the night Abia stopped waiting for the world to come to our shop, and took our shop to the world.

We stand with you. We will carry this fire.

Ka anyị gaa n’ihu. Njikọ Ka.
