Suspected Vandal Crushed to Death Under Collapsed Transmission Tower in Delta
A suspected vandal has been crushed to death after a vandalised transmission tower collapsed along the 330kV Ughelli–Benin transmission line in Delta State.
The incident was discovered during a patrol by the Transmission Company of Nigeria’s Delta Sub-Region Lines Maintenance Department after the transmission line tripped on an earth fault.
The patrol team traced the fault to Tower 101, which had collapsed. The body of the suspected vandal was reportedly found trapped and crushed between the fallen tower members.
TCN also reported that Tower 101 on the adjacent Ughelli–Sapele 330kV transmission line had been vandalised.
