Chinedum Orji Represented Umuahia Central, Kelechi Onuzuruike Represented Ohuhu: Obi Aguocha, It Is A Big Shame To Claim What Happened When You Were Not Even In The Corridors Of Power – By Mandate 27 Group

Obi Aguocha’s media team has outdone itself. After weeks of running from simple questions about the Green Chamber, they have found a new line of attack: a transformer promised to Ndị Umuda, Ohuhu, which has allegedly not been installed. They want Ndi Ikwuano and Umuahia to believe that Rt. Hon. Engr. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji has betrayed a community, and that this should count against his record.

Let us look at the foundation of this argument, because it collapses the moment anyone examines it.

Rt. Hon. Engr. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji represented the Umuahia Central State Constituency at the Abia State House of Assembly. He served as House Leader and later as Speaker. During that same period, Ohuhu State Constituency, where Ndị Umuda is located, was represented by Hon. Kelechi Onuzuruike.

That is the fact the writer left out. Ndị Umuda belongs to Ohuhu, and Ohuhu had its own elected representative in the same Assembly and in the same period. Hon. Kelechi Onuzuruike was the lawmaker sitting for that community. Why is his name nowhere in this article? Why was he not asked about the transformer, the site the people prepared, or what was said to them? Why is the only name in the dock that of the man who represented Umuahia Central?

If a man representing Umuahia Central can leave a legacy, whether complete or half complete, that reaches into another constituency, what is the moral justification for any sensible person to use it against him? And since when does one lawmaker answer for the unfinished business of a community that had its own representative? Is Chinedum Orji now the representative of every community in Umuahia North? Is he responsible for every transformer, borehole and road in every ward across the state? If that is the standard, then let it be applied to Obi Aguocha, who has held the federal seat for 3 years and 9 months, and let him explain every promise and every community across Ikwuano, Umuahia North and Umuahia South that is still waiting.

And here is the part that should make Aguocha hang his head in shame. When Chinedum Orji was House Leader and Speaker, when decisions were taken, when projects were conceived and when promises were made, Obi Aguocha was not in the corridors of power. He was not at the table, he was not in the room, and he was not part of any of those conversations. Today he hides behind a media team and lays claim to outrage over events he had no hand in and no knowledge of. It is a big shame to be so eager to prosecute a story you were not even present for. A man who was not there cannot speak for what happened there.

Notice also how the writer builds his case. The promise was “reportedly” made. No date, no venue, no witness, no document, no named community leader. A reported assurance, a community that “prepared a space,” and three years of silence. Not one verifiable detail. That is not accountability journalism. That is a rumour dressed in the language of public interest.

If a community truly prepared a space and was truly left waiting, the first people to ask are the representative who sat for that constituency, Hon. Kelechi Onuzuruike, and the officials who handle such projects, not a former Speaker who served Umuahia Central. Anyone with sense can see that this is a political ambush, not a civic enquiry.

Compare that with what the public can verify. Seven documented 1,000-capacity mini stadiums. Electrification across 32 communities. Boreholes. Scholarships. Empowerment programmes lifting youth and elderly out of poverty. These have names, locations and beneficiaries. A man whose record can be walked into, touched and used does not need to explain away a transformer in a constituency he was never elected to represent.

This is the brain Obi Aguocha and his media team feeds the public with: a manufactured grievance, a missing fact and a prayer that nobody will check. They have no scorecard of their own, so they borrow other people’s problems. They cannot name 10 wards that have benefited from three years and nine months of representation, so they build a case against the man whose footprints are on the ground.

If the writer wants accountability, he should begin at home. Let Obi Aguocha publish his list of 10 wards and polling units, with projects, funding sources, dates and evidence. Let him tell the people what became of his allowances and constituency funds.

Abians are watching, and they are far sharper than this propaganda assumes. A transformer in another man’s constituency will not cover the emptiness of a record, and the sooner Aguocha’s handlers understand that, the less embarrassing their next press release will be.
