2027: Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji Will Show Evidence Of Service And Scorecard Unlike Hon. Obi Aguocha – By Paul Njoku

For years, Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency was known for its rich history, resilient people, agricultural strength and enormous human potential. But today, under the representation of Hon. Obi Aguocha in the Green Chamber of the National Assembly, Umuahia/Ikwuano Federal constituency is increasingly known for something worst.

As Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji is about to be elected and replace Hon. Obi Aguocha, Ikwuano/ Umuahia Federal constituency will testify and confirm that they have produced one of Nigeria’s most influential voices in the National Assembly. There would be transformation and
that transformation would not happen by accident. It will happen by competence, legislative character, capacity, courage and resilience. It will be the product of strategic political representation, and deliberate constituency engagement.

I strongly believe that the emergence of Chinedum Orji as a member of the forthcoming 11th House of Representatives, he will be a revolutionary national lawmaker.

Since assuming the position as a representative of the Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal constituency in 2023, Hon. Obi Aguocha, has failed to show evidence of transparent service and truthful scorecard that reflect the human capital development expected of him to the people.

Analysts of legislative matters of the National Assembly have never recognized Obi Aguocha as a creative lawmaker to listing his legislative interest via national development, women and youth inclusion, empowerment and project implementation.

There is a profound political significance to the fact that a son of Ibeku in the person of Chinedum Orji would sit in the leadership of the Nigerian House of Representatives next year (2027).

Obi Aguocha is not aware that the office of a federal legislator is not merely a joke. Chinedum Orji has been there as Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly. He has the empirical expertise and experience than Obi Aguocha.

Business of lawmaking is placed at the centre of national legislative conversations, national policy formulation and the management of one of the most important institutions of Nigeria’s democracy.

If elected, Chinedum Orji, will use that platform to ensure that the good people of Ikwuano/ Umuahia Federal constituency would not just be merely represented in Abuja, they will be heard in Abuja. His national responsibilities will include leadership roles within the Federal House including responsibilities connected to the Committee of the constitutional review. His official profile will also highlight his work on legislative instruments, constitutional review and broader national development.

This should be the new political identity of the people of Ikwuano/ Umuahia Federal constituency. Chinedum Orji will transform our constituency with a voice at the highest level of national decision making when elected.

When elected, Orji’s influence would be extended beyond constituency projects to national issues affecting the South East and Nigeria as a whole.

Chinedum Orji will seek to address insecurity and socio-economic challenges in the region through a non kinetic- multi stakeholder approach which demonstrates an important evolution in representation. He will also continue to overtly and covertly canvass for the release of Nnamdi Kanu without making noise.

As a representative, Orji will speak for his constituency and on national issues.
