No Light in Umuakam and Umunemeze Nkwoegwu, Erosion at His Gate — Yet Social Media Razzmatazz at Ofeke Ibeku.

Charity begins at home, but for Hon Obi Aguocha, charity begins on Instagram and Facebook and ends in Atlanta.

Two realities stare Hon Obi Aguocha in his own compound in Umuakam Nkwoegwu Ohuhu:

One: The road in his village, Umuakam Nkwoegwu is being ravaged by erosion.

Two: There is no light in Umuakam Nkwoegwu and Umunemeze Nkwoegwu.

No light. No road. In his own ancestral home. The twin basic needs of representation — road and light — that would benefit even him personally and his kinsmen — are absent. Yet he chose representation that would benefit even him personally and Umuakam Nkwoegwu to chase social media razzmatazz at Ofeke Ibeku.

What a way to represent Ikwuano Umuahia Federal Constituency.

OHUHU ROAD OF SHAME AND DARKNESS

Four days ago, Mandate 27 Group blasted Aguocha over deplorable road leading to Federal College of Education, Ofeme — situated in his own Ohuhu. Students cannot access school in rainy season. That road is shame.

Now add this: Umuakam Nkwoegwu and Umunemeze Nkwoegwu have no light. For months, kinsmen are in darkness. The Nkwoegwu to Express Dual Access Road and 33KVA Feeder Line from Ohiya Substation to Nkwoegwu — both built by an Ibeku son, Ochendo Theodore Orji, who never asked for Ohuhu blood certificate — that feeder line that lit Nkwoegwu is now dead, poles down, wires stolen, transformer unserviced. And the Federal lawmaker whose gate is on that road cannot attract Enugu DisCo, Rural Electrification Agency or NDPHC to restore it.

That is what Hon Obi Aguocha’s kinsmen are asking for — not social media busybody at Ofeke Ibeku.

They are not asking for speech at American Veterans of Igbo Descent (AVID) in Atlanta. They are not asking for grammar on value-added empowerment. They are asking: Nna anyi, put light for us, do road for us.

REPRESENTATION OF PRESS STATEMENTS

On September 24, 2026, Aguocha inspected erosion-damaged Amaeke Ibeku Road and said intervention is forthcoming. He inspected Nkata Okpuala-Umuochi Road with Commissioner for Works. He does inspection at Ofeke Ibeku for camera.

But Umuakam Nkwoegwu erosion is at his gate. The gully is swallowing the road built to his entrance. Umuakam and Umunemeze Nkwoegwu darkness is in his own kindred. No inspection. No statement. No FERMA letter. No REA letter. No Ecological Fund motion.

He says: “I won’t give constituents what I can’t give my children.”

Sir, can you give your children darkness? Can your children live in Umuakam Nkwoegwu without light? Can your children pass Nkwoegwu erosion road that your predecessor built to your gate?

THE INSULT OF PERSONAL NEGLECT

This is not Ikwuano road far away. This is Umuakam Nkwoegwu and Umunemeze Nkwoegwu — your village.

Chinedum Orji, who was representing Umuahia Central then, gave 500kva transformer to Umuda Afugiri even though Umuda was not in his constituency. Ochendo gave Nkwoegwu-Express Road and 33KVA line even though he was not Ohuhu.

You, Ohuhu son, Federal lawmaker, cannot give light to Umunemeze Nkwoegwu. Cannot protect road to your own house.

If representation cannot benefit Umuakam and Umunemeze personally, how will it benefit Ikwuano Umuahia?

WHAT KINSMEN WANT, NOT WHAT ATLANTA WANTS

Ndi Umuakam and Umunemeze Nkwoegwu are not on Instagram or Facebook. They want:

Motion for Ecological Fund intervention in Umuakam Nkwoegwu erosion.

Letter to Rural Electrification Agency and Enugu DisCo for restoration of Nkwoegwu feeder line and transformer replacement.

Insertion of Nkwoegwu erosion control and Nkwoegwu electrification in 2025/2026 Federal Budget.

Completion of road to Federal College of Education, Ofeme — in your own Ohuhu.

Not Ofeke Ibeku photo-op for social media razzmatazz.

CONCLUSION: WHEN YOUR HOUSE IS IN DARKNESS

A Federal lawmaker whose village has no light and whose road is ravaged by erosion should not be doing tourism politics.

Social media razzmatazz will not fill gully. Press statements from Atlanta will not bring light. Ofeke Ibeku busybody will not light Umunemeze.

Ndi Ikwuano Umuahia Federal Constituency are watching. 2027 will demand scorecard: How many roads did you attract? How many communities did you light? Starting from your own.

Umuakam Nkwoegwu is in darkness. Umunemeze Nkwoegwu is in darkness. Umuakam road is in gully. Your kinsmen are asking for light and road, not Atlanta speech.
