REUBEN ONUOHA EXPOSES PAPER PROJECTS: WHO IS REHABILITATING UMUAHIA-IKOT EKPENE ROAD – OBI AGUOCHA OR PRESIDENT TINUBU? – By MANDATE 27 GROUP

One of Obi Aguocha’s own constituents, Reuben Onuoha, has done what media witchcraft cannot silence. He asked for scorecard of Rt Hon Obi Aguocha, member representing Ikwuano Umuahia Federal Constituency. What he got from Elvis Abada, a loyalist and media defender, was list of non-existent projects. And the most insulting was claim of rehabilitation of Umuahia-Ikot Ekpene road.

Reuben asked the question every reasonable constituent is asking: Biko-nu, between Obi Aguocha and President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is the one rehabilitating Umuahia-Ikot Ekpene road?

THE FACT-CHECK THAT KILLED PAPER PROJECTS

Reuben did not argue on Facebook. He went to the starting point of phase 1 at Umudike Junction for confirmation. What did he find? Boldly written on the signpost: Federal Ministry of Works, Federal Government Infrastructural Tax Credit Scheme, NNPC LTD funding. No mention of any House member. No mention of constituency project. It is Federal Government project, funded through tax credit.

That is the difference between visible project and paper project. Projects should be visibly seen and felt, not on printed papers. Reuben said it.

THE TIMELINE THAT EXPOSES DECEIT

Reuben reminded us: this road reconstruction started even before Aguocha was elected and sworn in after 2023 elections. The reconstruction has been going on from Ikwuano boundary with Ikot Ekpene since late President Muhammadu Buhari was in power. Slow but steady.

He recalled his trip to Calabar in 2022, he plied through that road and work was going on around Ekebedi area. So it is deceitful to lay claims of attracting a road that was under construction even before you joined National Assembly. Nawah oooo, as Reuben said.

WHY THIS MATTERS FOR 2027

This is why the clamour for Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji is highest, even in Ohuhu, Aguocha’s home. Ikwuano Umuahia people are not illiterates. They know Federal Ministry of Works road. They know constituency classroom block. They know empowerment that ends in photograph versus empowerment with tools that still work.

Orji’s record as Majority Leader 2015-2019 and Speaker 2019-2023 is empirical. Classroom blocks under Direct Touch still standing. Water project at School of the Blind Afaraukwu still flowing. Electrification projects still lighting communities. Laws like Security Trust Fund Law, Roads Fund Law, SME Development Agency Law, Procurement Law still operational in Abia. These are projects you can enter, drink, see in statute book.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ORJI AND PAPER PROJECTS

Orji does not need to claim Tinubu’s road. He does not need to claim NNPC tax credit road. He does not need to claim Buhari’s road that started in 2022. Why? Because he has his own record that needs no signpost manipulation.

When Orji built, he put no Federal Ministry signpost. The community put his name in their heart. That is why over 80% of Ndi Ikwuano Umuahia have resolved to send him to Green Chamber come what may in 2027.

THE ADVANTAGE OF REALITY OVER RUMOUR

Reuben Onuoha is not Orji supporter, he is Aguocha’s constituent seeking scorecard. When his own constituent exposes paper projects, it confirms what we have said: there is nothing honourable in lies. What was expected was to lay bare achievements within time under review, but stock in trade became spreading empty lies and claiming federal roads.

2027 will not be decided by printed papers. It will be decided by visible projects. Umuahia-Ikot Ekpene road belongs to Federal Government of Nigeria through Tax Credit Scheme and NNPC LTD, as signpost at Umudike Junction says. Mbator Primary School Ohuhu belongs to ruins, as walls cry like blood of Abel. But Orji’s record belongs to people, and people will vote it.

That is why Ikwuano Umuahia has chosen Ikuku.
