Rejoinder: Obi Aguocha Failed Abysmally, He Cannot Give What He Does Not Have – By Mandate 27 Group

To the women of the world, the women of Nigeria, the women of Abia State, and especially the mothers, daughters, sisters, traders, teachers, and wives of the Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency: we owe you an apology. This apology is because Hon. Obi Aguocha has failed everybody. He cannot give what he does not have. He has obviously failed abysmally.

We apologise that the one you trusted with your mandate, and who sits in the green chamber in your name, has been seen on video singing and vibing to a vulgar song that reduces your dignity to entertainment. We apologise that this happened in the presence of families and children, who watched a leader celebrate what a leader should have rebuked. You deserved better, and you still do.

Let us be honest about what is happening. Ogele is a proud heritage of our people, and no one is attacking it. But heritage is not a licence for vulgarity. Our forebears sang to celebrate harvests, marriages, and the strength of motherhood. They did not sing to humiliate the very women who bore and raised the community. A leader’s duty is to know the difference, and to lead by that knowledge.

Our elders say a man cannot give what he does not have. A man who has not learned to honour, cherish, and protect the woman closest to him cannot be expected to understand the worth of womanhood. A man who has never truly valued the place of a wife in his own home will not value the place of the woman in the market, the classroom, the hospital, or the village square. Respect for women is not a slogan reserved for campaign season. It is a character formed at home and carried into public life. When it is missing there, it shows up in songs, in jokes, and in votes, and it shows up in policy.

Women are the backbone of our families and the engine of our local economy. They feed the home, pay school fees from market stalls, nurse the sick, and keep our communities together. In return, they deserve a representative who sees them as partners in progress and not as punchlines. They deserve legislation, empowerment, and opportunity, not insult dressed in tradition.

That is why we urge the women of this constituency to rally round the right man for the job, Rt. Hon. Engr. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji. He is a man who understands the importance of women in the family and in society. He knows that no community rises above the level of its mothers. He has the temperament, the home training, and the record of service to give women their rightful place and honour, in this constituency and beyond.

The 2027 election is a choice between dignity and disrespect, between a representative who is present for you and one who is merely entertained at your expense. Mothers, sisters, daughters, and wives, your voice is your power and your vote is your answer. Let it be heard loud and clear at the ballot box.

Women of Ikwuano/Umuahia, you are not objects. You are the pride of our land, and the right leader will tell you so, in words and in deeds.
