Ukwa 2027 Race: Labour Party Reps Candidate Engr. Adinigwe Nwoke Consults Asa Liberation Movement, Seeks Stronger Alliance Ahead of Polls

The Labour Party candidate for the House of Representatives for Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency, Hon. Chief Engr. Adinigwe Ugochukwu Nwoke, has intensified consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections with a visit to the leadership and members of the Asa Liberation Movement (ALM).

The consultative meeting was held on Sunday at the country home of the President of the movement, Hon. Emeka Adiele, in Umuajuoha Obuzor Asa, Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State. It drew a large turnout of ALM members, community leaders, women, youths, Labour Party officials and other political stakeholders.

Welcoming the Labour Party delegation, Hon. Emeka Adiele recalled that the Asa Liberation Movement identified Engr. Adinigwe as a credible political leader in 2022 after recognizing his leadership qualities, vision and commitment to the development of Ukwa East and Ukwa West Federal Constituency.

“We identified Engr. Adinigwe because we saw in him the capacity, vision and commitment to transform Ukwa Federal Constituency. Our confidence in him remains unshaken,” Adiele said.

Former member of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ngozi Ulunwa, formally presented Engr. Adinigwe to the movement and urged members to remain united in supporting his aspiration ahead of the 2027 House of Representatives election.

In his address, Engr. Adinigwe thanked the leadership and members of ALM for their unwavering support since 2022, describing the movement as the platform that gave him his political foundation.

He clarified that the formation of the Asa Patriots support group was never intended to replace the Asa Liberation Movement but to complement its efforts in advancing the collective political interest of Asa people.

“The vision we started together is still alive. Asa Patriots was created to complement ALM, not to replace it. If we remain united and focused, our sacrifices will produce victory in 2027,” Engr. Adinigwe stated.

Also speaking, the Coordinator of Abia Arise in Ukwa West LGA, Hon. Ndukuba Adiele, commended members of ALM for their resilience and urged them to continue working closely with the Labour Party to achieve success in the forthcoming elections.

Responding, Hon. Emeka Adiele thanked the Labour Party leadership for the consultative visit and reaffirmed that ALM remains a formidable movement founded on sound principles and committed to the political advancement of Asa people.

“We appreciate this visit and the respect shown to our movement. ALM will carefully deliberate on today’s discussions and communicate its position at the appropriate time,” he said.

The meeting ended with renewed calls for unity and collaboration between the Labour Party and the Asa Liberation Movement as political consultations intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
